Full job description

Taylor Vets Middleton Cheney is a fast-growing, independent practice founded in February 2025. We’re building a team that’s ambitious, supportive and proud of the standards we set. We're looking for a receptionist who wants to be part of that.

We’re a hands-on, progressive practice with customer and patient care at the heart of how we approach problems.

We are looking for a friendly, organised and compassionate receptionist. You will be the first point of contact for our clients and their pets, creating a warm and welcoming environment.

Key Responsibilities

Welcoming clients and their pets into the practice
Answering telephone calls and responding to client enquiries
Booking and managing appointments
Processing payments and handling basic financial administration
Maintaining accurate client and patient records
Liaising with veterinary surgeons, nurses and other team members
Managing emails and general administrative tasks
Supporting the smooth running of the reception area
Maintaining a clean reception area
Providing compassionate support to clients, including during difficult or sensitive situations

About You

We’re looking for someone who is:

Friendly, approachable and confident communicating with clients
Calm and professional in a busy environment
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Comfortable using computers and learning practice management systems
A genuine animal lover with a passion for excellent customer service
Reliable, flexible and able to work well as part of a team

Role

This is a part time role- 25 hours a week + 3.5 hours on a Saturday rota (currently 1 in 4)

Scope for overtime covering other receptionist's holidays
