Calling for Caring and Committed Senior Residential Support Workers across the West Midlands!!!

About Us

Leading Nurturing Residential Specialist Ltd (LNRS) provides high-quality, nurturing homes for children and young people who have experienced trauma or difficult life experiences.

We are opening two new homes across the West Midlands — for children aged 8–17 years.

Locations: Solihull B92 and Brownhills WS8

We are looking for caring, resilient, and motivated Senior Residential Support Workers to join our growing team and make a real difference in young people’s lives.

The Role

At Leading Nurturing Residential Specialists, we believe that the children and young people are valued members of our residential community, and that stability and consistent care can significantly improve their outcomes and life chances.

Your role is to provide the highest quality of person-centred care tailored to each child's individual needs. This includes offering safety, security, stability, and support for each child and young person in our care. We aim to ensure that no child or young person is deprived of the joy and experiences of childhood. By establishing age-appropriate routines and boundaries, we help develop autonomous individuals who can navigate society safely.

We encourage the development of social skills, lifelong competencies, and emotional intelligence. Your responsibilities include devising comprehensive and individualised care plans to address the physical, personal, social, psychological, emotional, behavioural, cultural, spiritual, communication, and healthcare needs of the children. Promoting the active and positive presence of young people in the local community is also a key aspect of our approach.

Empowering young people to exercise choice is crucial, and we ensure that their opinions, feelings, and wishes are valued and heard. We support an education program that is stimulating and challenging, fostering the growth and development of young people. Collaborating closely with parents, carers, and other significant adults is essential, as is working in partnership with other professionals and agencies. Above all, we strive to be strong advocates for our young people.

To be responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day running (in line with Children ’s Homes Regulations) of the Children’s Home including promoting the safeguarding of young people’s welfare. Participate in the on-call roster in support of the Children’s Home. Supporting the Registered Manager with the daily running of the home.

Your key responsibilities will include:

Support with the management of the residential home on a day-to-day basis ensuring it is compliant in meeting all relevant legislative and contractual requirements, including the health and educational needs of young people.
To deputise in the absence of the home managers
Liaise with other departments and external agencies to ensure that the young people receive appropriate plans, programmes, and support in the home to aid their rehabilitation into the community and to meet contractual requirements
Coach, support and develop staff, including supervision, to maximise their performance and ensure high standards of care, values, ethical standards, equality and diversity, policies and procedures, legislation and contractual and inspection framework requirements are met
Interpret and implement changes in legislation relating to occupancy to ensure any enhanced requirements are met
Identify resourcing needs and the ongoing selection, training, and development of staff to ensure service delivery is optimised and relevant standards are met.
Engender a positive health and safety culture to meet and maintain company and external accreditation standards
To ensure the protection and safeguarding of the young people in our care
To address the needs of the young people according to their individual care plans
Demonstrate to the young people the value of education, care, and development to achieve better outcomes
Build and create mutual trust and respect with young people in order that they respond and react appropriately to information and advice
Define structures and boundaries of behaviour to young people, acting as a positive role model, so they understand daily routines expected
Produce, maintain, and distribute house paperwork to ensure relevant information is recorded accurately and is available
Monitor and analyse the young people’s behaviour to encourage them to participate in a positive structured routine
Create and produce activities to occupy and develop young people in order that they gain life skills and education on an informed basis
Maintain knowledge of and apply the relevant legislative, regulative standards against inspection framework requirements
Provide advice and skills to young people on managing their finances and other everyday life skills
To support the healthcare needs of the young people and encourage and attend appointments as required to include the administration of medication and where required first aid
To ensure that young people are transported safely in company vehicles and be aware of young people’s risk assessments and company’s policies and procedures
To ensure and promote the cleanliness of the home’s environment and maintain standards.
To promote the homes effective Health and Safety management by way of completing daily Health and Safety audits
Where necessary, identify and challenge negative behaviours in an appropriate and constructive manner
Able to form and maintain and encourage good working relationships and effective work practices as part of theme.
Must represent, engage and collaborate positively with parents, careers, other agencies and professionals to ensure that the best interests of the young people are supported and respected at all times.
Deliver one to one support discussions with young people
Complete regular key work sessions with young people in line with their care plans.
Attend and lead in staff meetings where required.
Complete sleep-in duties where required as part of rota
Must be committed to undertake regular job-related training.
Have a working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications or equivalent and have a willingness to learn new applications and technology as appropriate.
Must be able to carry out all duties in line with policies and procedures.
To complete additional tasks and duties requested by your line manager that are reasonable within your role as Senior Support Worker
To be part of the on call system within the home. This will be rota based.

About You

We’re looking for individuals who are:

-Calm, patient, and resilient in challenging situations.

-Great communicators and strong team players.

-Hold (or are working towards) a Level 3 or 4 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent.

-12 months experience within a Residential Children's Home

-Hold a full UK driving licence

Pay Rates:

From £14.00 up to £16.00 depending on experience
