Full job description

At inspiring vet care, our people are at the heart of everything we do. As the UK’s number one vet care provider, we're trusted with the care of over 2 million animals, delivering our purpose of healthier animals and happier owners.

We are proud to offer outstanding care to pets and their owners in Alfreton and surrounding areas. As well as having a central hospital with a referral centre and a dedicated night team, we have several local practices such as Allestree and Langley Mill that are in the heart of their communities, offering first class care at a convenient location for pet owners.

This is a fixed-term contract role for 6 months.

How you'll make a difference

As a Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for clients, playing a key role in delivering a welcoming, professional, and compassionate experience at every interaction.

You’ll support the smooth running of the practice by managing appointments, handling enquiries, supporting client communications, and working closely with clinical and non-clinical colleagues to ensure a positive client and patient journey.

Your role will involve:

Welcome all clients and patients to the practice

Showing professionalism and care at all times

Manage client expectations – openly and confidently discussing client needs as appropriate
Pro-actively manage appointments and client visits – booking and manging appointments as

per protocol

Telephones – Answering calls and dealing with the call in a manner and as per expected

standards

Act in compliance with all legal and company-wide safety and wellbeing policies and

procedures.

Account management – Handling payments and charging for services provided by the practice, making sure all appointments, products and services are paid for and discussion are had with regards insurance

Administration – To include managing client records including up to date contact details for all clients, appointment generation, and face-to-face, telephone and email communication with clients and colleagues

Pet Health Club – Introduce clients to practice care plans and preventative pet health care

You will be working 18 hours per week between the hours of 8.30am - 7pm, Monday to Friday.
