Bridgwater College Academy

Contract: Permanent, 30 hours per week (All Year Round).

Salary: Band 04, Points 5 to 6, starting at Point 5.

Actual Starting Salary: £20,743.20 per annum

Are you passionate about the outdoors, take pride in keeping spaces clean, green, and inspiring, and want your work to positively impact students every single day?

Bridgwater College Academy is looking for a dedicated Grounds Maintenance Technician to join our friendly Premises team. If you have a green thumb, a great work ethic, and enjoy working in beautiful surroundings that support young people’s education, we’d love to hear from you.

What You'll Be Doing:

Maintaining school grounds to a high standard: mowing, hedge cutting, pruning, planting, and general upkeep.
Using a range of grounds maintenance equipment safely and effectively.
Keeping storage areas tidy and tools well maintained.
Supporting the delivery of safe, accessible, and beautiful outdoor spaces for students and staff.
Following environmental and health & safety policies while performing all duties.

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in grounds maintenance, horticulture or landscaping.
A team player with a positive, can-do attitude.
Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors in all weathers.
Enthusiasm for maintaining green spaces and sports pitches.
Understanding of health & safety procedures and willingness to learn.

It’d Be Great If You Also Have:

Horticulture or technical qualifications.
Experience working in an educational or public setting.
Familiarity with artificial turf maintenance or pesticide use (PA1/PA6).
Full UK driving licence.
