Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Sports Coach to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sports coaching and teaching, with the ability to inspire and motivate athletes of all ages and skill levels. As a Sports Coach, you will be responsible for developing training programmes, enhancing athletic performance, and fostering a positive team environment.

This will be for an afterschool Sports club at a Primary school based in Wells BA5.

Wednesdays 3:15pm - 4:15pm

Duties

Design and implement training sessions tailored to the needs of individual athletes and teams.
Teach fundamental skills, strategies, and techniques in various sports disciplines.
Monitor athlete progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance performance.
Organise and lead practice sessions, ensuring a safe and supportive environment.
Develop game plans and strategies for competitions while promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
Communicate effectively with athletes, parents, and other coaching staff to ensure alignment on goals and expectations.
Maintain records of athlete performance, attendance, and behaviour for assessment purposes.
Stay updated on the latest coaching techniques, trends in sports science, and safety protocols.

Skills

Proven experience in sports coaching with a strong understanding of various sports disciplines.
Excellent teaching skills with the ability to convey complex concepts in an understandable manner.
Strong leadership qualities to motivate athletes and foster teamwork.
Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with athletes, parents, and colleagues.
Ability to assess individual athlete needs and adapt training accordingly.
Strong organisational skills to manage schedules, training sessions, and administrative tasks effectively.
