About The Role

Plympton Academy is seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teacher of English to join our team on a fixed-term basis from January 2027 or sooner until 31 August 2027.

We would also welcome applications from candidates seeking a part-time role.

You will join a supportive and dedicated team of English teachers and play an important role in delivering a high-quality English education for our students. We are looking for a creative and dynamic practitioner who can inspire and engage students of all abilities, set high expectations and support every learner to achieve their full potential.

You will:

Be passionate about teaching and learning and improving the life chances of our students.
Deliver high-quality classroom practice, with high expectations for achievement and behaviour.
Plan and deliver a creative, engaging and stimulating curriculum.
Be committed to your own professional development and keen to take advantage of the CPD opportunities available.
Contribute positively to the values, ethos and continued development of Plympton Academy.

A qualified teacher with QTS.
Strong subject knowledge and a genuine passion for English.
Creative, resilient and able to adapt your teaching to meet the needs of individual learners.
Committed to the potential of every student and to removing barriers to learning.
A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with students, colleagues and families.
