Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated <PERSON> fitter to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing various mechanical systems and equipment. This role requires a strong understanding of mechanical principles, the ability to work with hand and power tools, and physical strength to handle heavy lifting tasks. The <PERSON> fitter will play a vital part in ensuring the smooth operation of machinery and equipment across our facilities.

Duties

Install, assemble, and maintain mechanical components and systems in accordance with technical specifications.
Conduct routine inspections and identify potential issues before they lead to equipment failure.
Use hand tools and power tools to carry out repairs, adjustments, and installations efficiently.
Perform heavy lifting tasks safely when handling large or bulky parts or machinery.
Troubleshoot mechanical problems and implement effective solutions promptly.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Collaborate with other technical staff to ensure safety standards are upheld during all operations.
Follow health and safety regulations at all times to minimise risks within the workplace.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a <PERSON> fitter or in a similar mechanical role.
Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret technical drawings and manuals.
Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Physical strength and stamina for heavy lifting and manual tasks.
Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Relevant technical qualifications or certifications in mechanical engineering or fitting are desirable but not essential. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about mechanical work to develop their skills within a professional environment committed to safety and quality standards.

Pay: £20,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
