Overview
We are seeking a skilled and responsible Class 1 HGV Low Loader Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting heavy plant and machinery using a flatbed low loader lorry. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations. The position requires adherence to safety standards, punctuality, and professionalism at all times.
Duties
- Safely operate a Class 1 HGV low loader lorry, ensuring compliance with all road safety regulations and company policies
- Load and secure heavy machinery or equipment onto the flatbed, ensuring stability during transit
- Plan delivery routes efficiently to meet scheduled deadlines
- Conduct pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure roadworthiness and report any issues promptly
- Assist with the loading and unloading process when necessary, using appropriate lifting equipment
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance checks
- Follow all health and safety procedures to protect oneself and others on the road and at loading sites
- Communicate effectively with clients, dispatchers, and team members regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
Qualifications
- Valid Class 1 HGV licence with a clean driving record
- Must have Load and Secure experience
- MUST have IPAF qualification
- Proven experience in commercial driving, particularly with flatbed or low loader vehicles
- Knowledge of safe loading practices for heavy machinery on flatbeds
- Strong understanding of road safety regulations and compliance requirements
- Ability to operate heavy-duty vehicles confidently and responsibly
- Good organisational skills
- Physically fit to handle loading/unloading tasks when required

Pay: £180.00-£200.00 per day
