Overview
We are seeking a talented and creative Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for baking and decorating, with a keen eye for detail and a flair for artistic presentation. This role involves transforming freshly baked cakes into visually stunning masterpieces that delight our customers. The successful applicant will contribute to maintaining high standards of food safety and quality in a fast-paced environment, ensuring every cake meets our brand’s aesthetic and taste expectations.

Responsibilities

Decorate cakes according to customer specifications, including intricate designs and themed decorations
Prepare cake surfaces with icing, fondant, and other decorative elements
Ensure all decorations are applied accurately and efficiently while maintaining visual appeal
Assist in the preparation of cake batter, fillings, and icings as required
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the decorating area in compliance with food safety standards
Collaborate with the baking team to ensure timely completion of orders
Keep up-to-date with current cake decorating trends and techniques to continuously enhance skills

Requirements

Proven experience in food production, food preparation, or culinary arts, preferably within a bakery or restaurant environment
Strong skills in baking, cake decorating, and food safety practices
Knowledge of various decorating techniques including piping, moulding, and colour application
Experience with kitchen equipment used for baking and decorating
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy setting while maintaining attention to detail
Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
Previous restaurant or bakery experience is advantageous but not essential; enthusiasm for learning is key
