About the Role:

Southampton is a growing city with strong demand for reliable construction, property, and facilities services, and at JB Design and Construction Services Ltd, we bring practical planning, quality workmanship, and professional service into every project we manage.

We are looking for a Building Services Manager who can take ownership of building operations, contractor coordination, maintenance planning, and service delivery across commercial and residential projects. You are not just checking work orders or following up with suppliers. You are making sure buildings are safe, efficient, well maintained, and ready for the people who use them every day.

You will work closely with project teams, site supervisors, contractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure building services are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high professional standard.

Key Responsibilities:

Building Services Management: Oversee daily building services, maintenance activities, contractor work, and facilities support across assigned sites or projects.

Contractor Coordination: Manage external contractors, suppliers, and service providers to ensure work is completed safely, professionally, and on schedule.

Maintenance Planning: Support planned preventive maintenance, repairs, inspections, and service schedules for building systems and facilities.

Site Support: Work with site teams and project managers to identify service needs, resolve operational issues, and maintain high standards of building performance.

Health and Safety: Help ensure work is carried out in line with health and safety procedures, site rules, and company standards.

Budget and Cost Control: Monitor service costs, review contractor quotations, and support efficient use of materials, labour, and maintenance resources.

Client Communication: Provide clear updates to clients, internal teams, and stakeholders regarding service progress, issues, and improvement actions.

What We Are Looking For:

Experience: Previous experience in building services, facilities management, construction operations, property maintenance, or a similar technical service role.

Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of building systems, maintenance coordination, contractor management, and site service requirements.

Leadership: Able to supervise teams, coordinate contractors, resolve issues, and keep work moving in a professional and organised way.

Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to work with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal teams.

Problem Solving: Able to manage pressure, prioritise urgent issues, and make practical decisions in a busy site or facilities environment.

Mindset: You are organised, reliable, safety focused, and proactive. You understand that good building services depend on planning, follow through, and clear communication.

Pay: £47,000.00-£52,000.00 per year
