About Wacky Kingdom

Wacky Kingdom is an indoor family entertainment and soft-play brand, bringing our newest location to Westquay, Southampton.

We're looking for a creative and commercially minded Social Media & Marketing Associate to grow our local presence, build an engaged community and help establish Wacky Kingdom as a leading family destination in Southampton.

This is a hands-on role combining social media, content creation, local marketing, campaigns and creator partnerships. We're looking for someone who brings fresh ideas, takes initiative and understands how great marketing can turn engagement into visits and bookings.

The Role

You'll help plan and deliver Wacky Kingdom Southampton's social media and marketing activity, working closely with the management team while taking ownership of day-to-day content and campaigns.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and grow our Instagram, Facebook and TikTok channels.
Plan and maintain weekly and monthly content calendars.
Create engaging Reels, Stories, posts and short-form content.
Write engaging, on-brand captions and calls to action.
Identify relevant trends and creative content opportunities.
Plan and support marketing campaigns for launches, admissions, birthday parties, school holidays, events and seasonal promotions.
Capture photo and video content on-site and create simple branded assets using Canva or similar tools.
Research and build relationships with relevant local family and lifestyle creators.
Coordinate gifted visits, creator collaborations and launch activity.
Develop local partnerships with businesses, organisations and community groups.
Support local PR and community outreach opportunities.
Monitor social media and campaign performance, including reach, engagement, website traffic, enquiries and bookings.
Use performance insights to continuously improve content and campaigns.

About You

We're looking for someone who is creative, proactive and commercially aware, with the confidence to bring their own ideas and take ownership of projects.

You'll Ideally Have:

Minimum 1–2 years' experience in social media, marketing, digital marketing or a similar role.
Experience managing social media accounts for a business, brand or organisation.
Strong knowledge of Instagram, Facebook and TikTok.
Experience planning social media campaigns and content calendars.
Confidence creating engaging short-form content.
Strong copywriting and communication skills.
Experience with Canva or similar creative tools.
Understanding of social media analytics and performance metrics.
Awareness of influencer and creator marketing.
Strong organisation and time-management skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
A genuine interest in current social media and marketing trends.

Experience within family entertainment, hospitality, leisure, attractions, events, retail, local marketing or paid social advertising would be an advantage.

What You'll Be Working Towards

Your goal will be to grow awareness of Wacky Kingdom Southampton, build an engaged local audience and use creative marketing to support venue visits, birthday-party bookings, events and customer loyalty.

We're looking for someone who wants to help build a brand, not simply maintain a social media account.

Please include examples of social media accounts, campaigns, content or marketing projects you've previously worked on with your application.

Pay: From £12.71 per hour
