About the Role
With this key maternity cover role in our Marketing team, you will play a central role in shaping how Alitex shares its beautiful products and busy event schedule across many channels and communities. This is a proactive, insight-led role focused on delivering a marketing strategy that reflects our unique brand position and supports long-term growth.
At its heart, the role is about engaging our customers, partners, prospects, and horticultural professionals in creative, thoughtful, and commercially effective ways - driving awareness, consideration, and advocacy. You will help bring our brand vision to life, ensuring every touchpoint - from website and social media to print and events - delivers a consistent, premium brand experience.
As Alitex expands into the United States, you will also support our international growth, working closely with the US team to build brand presence in a new market.
This role combines brand building with performance marketing, including responsibility for PPC, SEO and selective print media. With CRM-led insight you will balance strategic priorities with day-to-day community management. You will also oversee e-commerce through The Potting Shed, ensuring a seamless customer journey.
Office hours are 8am to 5pm (for 40hrs/week Monday – Friday), but the nature of the role will require work outside of these hours and at weekends, in which time off in lieu will be provided.
Salary: £35,000+ per annum depending on experience. Ideally 5+ years’ experience in marketing.
About You
You’ll be a confident communicator who enjoys working at pace, using your initiative and thrives on variety.
- Marketing qualification or relevant experience.
- Experience managing marketing budgets across print, digital, e-commerce, and marketing systems, including planning, invoicing, reporting, and budget tracking.
- Experience managing the production of print collateral, including brochures, campaign and event materials, sales assets, copywriting, photography coordination, print production, and maintaining marketing materials.
- Advanced HubSpot CRM experience, including audience segmentation, email automation, campaign reporting, customer journey management, and using insights to improve engagement and support commercial growth.
- Genuine interest in nature and plants, and/or a background in the horticultural industry a plus.

- This is a fixed term maternity cover role, for up to 12 months.
- Alitex is based in a rural location near Petersfield in Hampshire, with limited access to public transport.
- The role is office-based.
- Applicants must have the right to live and work in the UK.
- 22 days holiday per annum.
- You will have monthly development meetings with your line manager.
