Experienced Cocktail Bartender / Mixologist (18+ Only)
We are looking for an experienced, confident and energetic Cocktail Bartender / Mixologist to join our team. This is not an entry-level role — applicants must have previous cocktail bar experience and be able to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
Successful candidates will be expected to demonstrate and prove their cocktail-making skills during the interview/trial shift. This may include preparing classic cocktails, demonstrating free-pouring accuracy, product knowledge, speed of service, presentation standards and customer interaction.
Applicants must be aged 18 or over due to licensing laws and the nature of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and serving high-quality cocktails, spirits, wines, beers and soft drinks to company standards
- Delivering fast, friendly and professional customer service at all times
- Engaging with customers confidently and creating a fun, welcoming atmosphere
- Recommending drinks and confidently upselling premium spirits, cocktails, shots, doubles, upgrades and additional items to increase sales
- Maintaining excellent product knowledge, including cocktail recipes, spirits, garnishes and current promotions
- Consistently producing drinks with excellent presentation and accuracy
- Handling busy service periods calmly while maintaining speed and quality
- Operating tills/POS systems accurately and handling cash/card transactions responsibly
- Monitoring customer intoxication levels and following Challenge 25/licensing regulations
- Restocking bars, preparing garnishes, syrups and cocktail ingredients
- Keeping the bar clean, organised and fully stocked throughout service
- Completing opening and closing bar duties
- Assisting with stock rotation, stock counts and minimising wastage
- Maintaining high hygiene, cleanliness and health & safety standards
- Working closely with management and floor staff to ensure smooth service
- Supporting venue events, promotions and entertainment nights where required
Requirements
- Minimum age: 18+
- Previous experience working as a cocktail bartender is essential
- Strong knowledge of classic cocktails, spirits and bar service
- Ability to work in a fast-paced late-night environment
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Confident upselling ability and strong personality behind the bar
- Reliable, punctual and well-presented
- Flexible availability including evenings, weekends and late nights
- Ability to work as part of a team under pressure
Interview & Trial Expectations
Shortlisted applicants will be required to complete a practical skills assessment/trial during the interview process. Candidates should be prepared to demonstrate:
- Cocktail knowledge and drink preparation
- Speed and efficiency behind the bar
- Customer interaction and service standards
- Pouring accuracy and presentation
- Ability to work under pressure
Applicants without relevant cocktail bar experience will not be considered.
Pay: £14.00 per hour
