Full job description

Solar PV Roofer / Installer

BB Electrical & Renewables Ltd is looking for experienced Solar PV Roofers/Installers to join our growing team, carrying out residential solar installations across Dorset and Hampshire.

We have a strong pipeline of ongoing work and require reliable installers who take pride in delivering safe, tidy and professional installations.

Responsibilities

Installing solar PV mounting systems and panels on pitched and flat roofs
Installing and setting out in-roof, on-roof and flat-roof solar PV systems
Fitting roof hooks, rails, mounting trays, flashings and ballast systems
Safely lifting, positioning and securing solar panels
Routing and securing DC cables neatly
Installing bird-protection mesh where required
Working closely with electricians and other members of the installation team
Following system designs, manufacturer instructions, risk assessments and method statements
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working area

Requirements

Proven experience installing in-roof, on-roof and flat-roof solar PV systems
Good knowledge of pitched and flat-roof construction and suitable fixing methods
Comfortable and competent working at height
Able to use hand and power tools safely
Physically fit and capable of lifting and positioning solar panels
Good attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
Reliable, punctual and able to work effectively as part of a team
Own transport and tools
Full UK driving licence
Appropriate working-at-height and site-safety awareness

Electrical qualifications are not essential, as electrical work will be completed by our qualified electricians. However, experience with DC cable management and solar installation practices would be beneficial.
