Full job description

Job Summary
We’re on the lookout for a Cook/Chef to join our lovely team at Totton Conservative Club & Empire Hall. We’re a relaxed, welcoming place with regulars who appreciate good food and a team that feels more like a family.

Our kitchen has recently had a full refurb, so everything’s fresh, clean, and ready. Role is to primarily work on your own.

Kitchen is open 7 days a week - shifts to be discussed.

Responsibilities

Cooking a classic pub-style menu for our customers, including home cooked dishes.
Catering for events such as weddings, buffets and parties in our hall.
Maintain high standards of food safety and sanitation in compliance with health regulations.
Coming up with weekly specials and new ideas for the new menu.
Occasionally ordering stock, keeping on top of supplies and costs.
Using Merrychef and Combi-Oven (don't worry if you are not an expert, training will be given).

MUST have following experience:

Experience of running or helping run a kitchen (please do not apply if you have no experience)
Food Safety Knowledge (Level 2 or above).
Experience in catering services and large-scale meal preparation is preferred.
Demonstrated knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in food handling.
A good head for costings and Gross Profit.
Someone who is calm, organised and enjoys working with others and can work under pressure when needed.
At least 10 years’ experience in the kitchen.
Will need 2 references who can give a full reference (who will be contacted before employment)
