Work Based Learning Assessor – Early Years (Level 2 & 3)
We are seeking a motivated and dedicated Work Based Learning Assessor to join our team, supporting adult learners undertaking Early Years qualifications at Level 2 and Level 3. In this role, you will assess and support learners working in Early Years settings including nurseries, preschools, and childcare environments.
You will work closely with learners and their workplace mentors to ensure they receive high-quality assessment, guidance, and feedback. Your role will be central in helping learners develop the knowledge, skills, and behaviours needed to work effectively with young children and support their learning, development, and wellbeing.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about Early Years education and committed to helping adult learners achieve their qualifications and progress in their careers. If you have experience working in Early Years settings and enjoy supporting others to develop professionally, this could be the ideal role for you. You will be a patient, organised, and supportive individual who can build strong relationships with learners and Early Years practitioners.
To succeed in this role, you will need excellent communication skills and the ability to observe and assess practice in real workplace settings. You will play a key role in encouraging learners, building their confidence, and supporting them to complete their qualifications in a timely and successful way.
Salary: Casual claim. £18.72 per hour + holiday allowance (total £20.98 per hour)

Plan and deliver high-quality assessment and feedback in line with qualification requirements.
Observe and assess learners in their workplace, ensuring evidence meets the standards of the awarding organisation.
Provide tailored guidance, coaching, and support to learners to help them achieve their learning goals. This might involve some small group instruction in class to ensure coverage of specific competencies
A strong commitment to supporting adult learners in Early Years education and helping them achieve their qualifications.
Experience of working within Early Years settings such as nurseries, preschools, or childcare environments.
Patience, empathy, and a positive approach when working with learners of varying experience and ability levels.
The ability to work collaboratively with tutors, employers, and Early Years setting staff to ensure high-quality learning experiences.
Confidence in observing, assessing, and providing constructive, developmental feedback in the workplace.
A strong understanding of safeguarding, child development, and the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
