The role:
As an Audio Typist within NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, you will play a vital part in supporting high-quality patient care through accurate and timely transcription services. Working closely with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams, you will ensure essential clinical documentation is produced to a high standard, contributing directly to patient pathways. Duration, Location, and Working Pattern:

Monday to Friday, days to be confirmed. 17 hours per week.

Key responsibilities:
- Transcribe clinical dictation from outpatient clinics, inpatient discharges and medical reports

Input and maintain accurate patient data on clinical systems to support follow-up care

Prepare and manage clinic letters, ensuring timely distribution and filing within patient records

Liaise with clinical staff, GPs and colleagues to resolve queries and obtain accurate patient information

Track and manage patient case records across departments, ensuring efficient movement and availability
-
Prioritise workload effectively to meet strict turnaround times and quality standards
-
Support general administrative duties including document handling, results processing and correspondence
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required to do the job:
- Secretarial Studies qualification or equivalent experience with advanced keyboard skills

Proven audio typing ability with high speed and accuracy

Strong understanding of medical terminology and excellent English language skills

Experience using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word and Outlook

Familiarity with clinical systems such as TrakCare or similar is desirable

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively

Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team
