Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a friendly and efficient Coffee Shop Assistant to join our vibrant team. This role involves providing excellent customer service, preparing a variety of beverages, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering high-quality service and have a keen eye for detail to ensure food safety standards are upheld. Previous experience in a similar setting is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and speciality drinks.
Take customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring prompt service.
Handle cash transactions and operate the till with precision.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, equipment, and customer areas in accordance with food safety regulations.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling sandwiches or snacks when required.
Restock supplies and organise stock to ensure smooth daily operations.
Provide friendly assistance to customers, answering queries and offering recommendations.
Follow health and safety procedures diligently to uphold hygiene standards.

Skills

Previous barista experience is desirable but not essential; training will be provided for those new to the role.
Experience in serving customers in a fast-paced environment.
Basic maths skills for handling cash transactions accurately.
Ability to prepare food items efficiently while maintaining quality standards.
Excellent time management skills to prioritise tasks during busy periods.
Strong organisational skills to keep work areas tidy and stocked appropriately.
Good communication skills with a friendly demeanour to enhance customer experience. This position offers an engaging environment where you can develop your hospitality skills whilst contributing to a welcoming community space. Pay: £8.00-£13.00 per hour
