We are seeking a proactive and highly organised Business Support Officer to join our Early Engagement, Intervention and Inclusion service, supporting specialist teaching teams to deliver high-quality services that enable children and young people to achieve their full potential.

You will coordinate the specialist training offer, managing procurement processes, purchase orders, invoicing and supplier payments, while ensuring financial and administrative systems run efficiently. The role also includes maintaining accurate databases, producing reports, and providing essential administrative support such as organising meetings, minute taking and coordinating events.

Working closely with colleagues, partners and stakeholders, you will respond to enquiries and deliver a professional, customer-focused service. You will also contribute to service improvement by supporting system developments, testing ICT solutions and helping to modernise processes.

This is a varied and rewarding opportunity for someone who is detail-focused, confident using systems, and committed to delivering high-quality support in a busy environment.

To be successful, you will have:

GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above)
A relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)
Strong administrative experience in a busy, customer-focused environment
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
Confidence using ICT systems, databases and spreadsheets
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
High levels of accuracy, organisation and attention to detail

This hybrid role requires flexibility to work across Cheshire West and Chester, including schools, council offices and home working.

Business Support Officer – Early Engagement, Intervention and Inclusion Service

This role is to be a Business Support Officer within Cheshire West’s Early Engagement, Intervention and Inclusion Service.

This pivotal role supports the effective delivery of services that promote inclusion and positive outcomes for children and young people across the borough. With demand and complexity of need continuing to grow, Cheshire West is committed to delivering efficient, high-quality and inclusive support services.

As a Business Support Officer, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth coordination of business processes that underpin the specialist service. You will work closely with specialist teaching teams, partners and stakeholders to support the delivery of training, maintain robust systems, and ensure services operate efficiently and effectively.

The role involves coordinating the specialist training offer, managing procurement processes, purchase orders, invoicing and supplier payments, alongside maintaining accurate financial and administrative systems. You will also support data management, produce reports to inform decision-making, and ensure compliance with relevant procedures and regulations.

You will work collaboratively with colleagues, schools, Early Years providers, families and partner agencies, responding to enquiries and providing a professional, customer-focused service. The role also includes supporting meetings, events and workshops, and contributing to service improvements, including testing and implementing new ICT systems and processes.

The role also involves:

Maintaining accurate service databases and producing reports to support performance and planning

Supporting financial processes and budget monitoring activities

Coordinating meetings, training events and workshops, including minute taking

Liaising with internal teams and external partners to ensure effective service delivery

Contributing to service development, process improvements and system enhancements

The successful candidate will:

Hold GCSEs (or equivalent) including English and Maths (Grade C/4 or above) and a relevant NVQ Level 3 qualification (or equivalent)

Have strong administrative experience in a busy, customer-focused environment

Demonstrate excellent organisational, communication and interpersonal skills

Be confident using ICT systems, databases, spreadsheets and digital platforms

Have the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail

Be proactive, adaptable and committed to continuous improvement
