Full job description

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Butchery Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food production and a keen interest in the culinary arts. This role involves supporting our skilled butchers in various tasks related to meat preparation, ensuring that all products meet the highest standards of quality and safety. If you have experience in a kitchen or food preparation environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you to develop your skills further.

Duties
- Assist butchers in the preparation and cutting of meat products.
- Ensure all food safety and hygiene standards are adhered to at all times.
- Help maintain a clean and organised work environment, including the proper cleaning of tools and equipment.
- Support with inventory management by checking stock levels and assisting with deliveries.
- Participate in the packaging of meat products for sale.
- Follow instructions from butchers regarding specific cuts and preparation techniques.
- Engage with customers when necessary, providing information about products.

Requirements
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food production environment is preferred but not essential as full training is provided.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
- Physical stamina, as the role may involve lifting heavy items and standing for extended periods.

Start times between 6/7am, weekly pay, meets and exceeds nmw and nlw.

this is a full time role and you’ll be required to work a 5 day week over 6 monday to saturday
