Overview

Great Oak Lodge is a private social care provider offering bespoke residential accomodation for children and young people across East Anglia. Our focus is creating safe, stable and nuturing homes where young people can grow, thrive and feel valued.

Summary

We are seeking a compassionate, reliable and motivated Residential Practitioner to join our dedicated team. You will play a key role in creating a nuturing, safe and stable environment for our children and young people that supports their development, wellbeing and emotional stability.

As a Residential Practitioner you will provide emotional and practical support to young people, helping them with daily activities, personal care and engaging in fun and enriching experiences.

No two days are the same. From beach walks, bowling, to theme parks, zoo trips and water sports, you'll be part of creating positive memories and opportunities for growth.

Reponsibilities

Provide emotional, physical and developmental support in a safe and caring environment.
Work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.
Build trusting relationships and act as a positive role model.
Assist with daily routines, meal preparation and household tasks.
Maintain accurate records and documentation.
Follow safeguarding procedures, company policies and best practice guidance.
Work collaboratively as part of a supportive residential team.

Requirements

Essential

Compassion, resilience and a genuine commitment to supporting young people.
Right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer visa sponsorship)
Willingness to complete an Enhanced DBS check.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to follow care plans and provide individualised support.
Basic IT skills for record keeping.

Desirable

12 months plus experience of working with children in a care setting or working with children/young adults who have experienced trauma.
12 months plus experience in care, support work or similar role.
Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
A valid driving licence.

Salary

Qualified (Level 3 Diploma Residential Childcare or equivalent):

£29,741.25 per annum starting salary
£30,822.75 per annum after successful probabtion
£31,904.25 per annum after 1 year of continuous employment

Unqualified

£28,119.00 per annum starting salary
£29,200.50 per annum after successful probation
£30,282.00 per annum after 1 year of continuous employment

Additional

£50 per sleep in

Additional Information:

A satifactory DBS is required.
Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) required for qualified rate.
You must have right to work in the UK (we are unable to offer sponsorship)
Work location: In person at our Acle NR13, home.
