Event Manager and Wedding Co-ordinator

Scarborough Hill Country Inn, North Walsham and Hotel Wroxham, Wroxham

Create unforgettable celebrations in one of Norfolk's most beautiful country venues and one Norfolks most vibrant river venues

Scarborough Hill Country Inn is a renowned family owned and operated period property set within stunning grounds on the edge of North Walsham. Known for its warm hospitality, historic and beautiful surroundings and exceptional service, we host a wide range of weddings, celebrations, corporate events and private functions throughout the year. We operate two vibrant hotels in our portfolio and this role will encompass both properties.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and experienced Event Manager to join our team and lead the planning and delivery of memorable events from enquiry through to completion.

This role is also about growing our businesses and actively generating new business opportunities that increase revenue across weddings, celebrations, coporate events and private functions.

The Role

As Event Manager, you will be the main point of contact for clients, ensuring every event is planned with attention to detail and delivered to the highest standard. Working closely with our management, kitchen and front-of-house teams, you will oversee every aspect of an event to ensure our guests receive an outstanding and bespoke experience.

Key Responsibilities

Manage wedding, corporate and private event enquiries from initial contact through to completion.
Conduct venue show rounds and build strong relationships with prospective clients.
Prepare quotations, contracts and event schedules.
Coordinate with chefs, bar and operational teams to ensure seamless event delivery.
Oversee events on the day, ensuring exceptional customer service and smooth operations.
Develop relationships with local suppliers and industry partners.
Maximise event revenue through effective sales and upselling opportunities.
Maintain excellent communication with clients before, during and after their event.
Ensure all events comply with health, safety and licensing regulations.
Be part of the everday operations of the business which includes bar, reception and restaurant

About You

The ideal candidate will have:

Previous experience in event management, hospitality or wedding coordination.
Excellent organisational and time management skills.
Outstanding communication and customer service abilities.
A confident and professional approach when dealing with clients.
The ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems effectively.
Strong commercial awareness and sales skills.
Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays as required.
A genuine passion for creating exceptional guest experiences.
