About Pride in Place
Pride in Place is a new government funding programme aimed at putting power into the hands of local people in some of the most in-need neighbourhoods across the UK, so that they can decide how to regenerate their local area. In Peterborough, Pride in Place Neighbourhood Boards will cover Paston, Gunthorpe and Welland, and Orton Malborne and Orton Goldhay, with up to £20 million of funding for each neighbourhood.
Each neighbourhood has an independent Board and Chair, supported by the Council as accountable body. The programme focuses on strengthening local pride, opportunity and resilience through community‑defined priorities.
All about the Role
We are looking for passionate, community-focused individuals to join our Pride in Place team and help deliver long-term, community-led change. The roles are designed around working where change happens, in the community, alongside residents, partners and Neighbourhood Boards. They offer a unique opportunity to help shape the future of local neighbourhoods through genuine co-production and community leadership. The role will work directly alongside the Neighbourhood Boards, supporting residents, community organisations, partners and local leaders to turn community aspirations into action. The successful candidates will spend significant time working within neighbourhoods, building relationships, facilitating engagement and helping deliver projects that matter to local people. The Project Co-ordinator will lead the day-to-day coordination of Pride in Place activity within the neighbourhood, working closely with Neighbourhood Board Chairs and members to support delivery of local priorities. You will lead stakeholder engagement, coordinate project delivery, oversee governance and reporting arrangements, manage programme risks and performance, and line manage a Project Officer. You will play a key role in supporting the Pride in Place Community Grants Programme, helping local organisations and residents access funding to deliver projects that matter to their neighbourhoods. This will include supporting grant application processes, community engagement around funding opportunities, administration, monitoring and ensuring robust governance arrangements are maintained. The successful candidates will work closely with both the Orton and Paston Neighbourhood Boards to support community-led investment decisions and deliver positive local outcomes.
Flexible Annualised Hours
Both posts are offered on a full-time annualised hours basis to reflect the nature of community-based working.
This means flexibility is essential. The successful candidates will regularly attend community meetings, listening events, workshops and engagement activities outside normal office hours. There will be a requirement for evening working and occasional weekend working to ensure local people have opportunities to participate and influence decisions.

This is a fixed term contract until September 2027

We are particularly keen to hear from candidates who have:
Experience of working directly with communities, residents, community groups and voluntary sector organisations, building trusted relationships and supporting local people to influence change.
A strong commitment to community engagement, co-production and resident-led decision making.
Experience of supporting, coordinating or delivering community-based projects, programmes or initiatives.
Experience of working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders, including local residents, community organisations, public sector partners and elected representatives.
Experience of supporting grants, funding programmes or community investment initiatives, including application processes, record keeping, monitoring, assurance or funding administration.
Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to coordinate activity, manage competing priorities and maintain accurate records.
The confidence to work independently within neighbourhoods, whilst building effective partnerships across communities and organisations.
A passion for improving local places and helping communities develop and deliver their own solutions to local challenges.
