Customer Service Advisor – Home Emergency Claims (Weekend-focused, 30 hours)

Location: South Shields – office based

About the role

We’re growing our Home Emergency Claims team and looking for part‑time Customer Service Advisors (30 hours) to join us. You’ll be helping customers when something goes wrong at home – from broken boilers to burst pipes – making sure they get fast, reliable support when they need it most.

This is a weekend‑focused role with a fixed rota, ideal if you’re happy to work Saturdays and Sundays every week with one set weekday back shift. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF THIS DOSENT SUIT YOU.

What you’ll do

Take inbound and make outbound calls (no cold calling).
Log claims accurately and arrange engineer visits.
Keep customers updated and ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
Work with colleagues to deliver excellent service on every contact.

What we’re looking for

At least 2 years’ call centre/contact centre experience.
A positive, calm and helpful attitude – especially when customers are under stress.
Strong communication skills and good attention to detail.
Confident using computers and handling multiple systems at once.
Reliable and comfortable with a fixed weekend‑based shift pattern.

Hours and shift pattern

Part‑time, 30 hours per week (3 × 10‑hour shifts).
You will work both Saturday and Sunday every week plus one fixed weekday back shift.
Shifts are either 06:00–16:00 (early) and 12:00–22:00 (late).
Each successful colleague will be assigned one of two patterns:
Weekend Early pattern:
Saturday: 06:00–16:00
Sunday: 06:00–16:00
One fixed weekday: 12:00–22:00
Weekend Late pattern:
Saturday: 12:00–22:00
Sunday: 12:00–22:00
One fixed weekday: 12:00–22:00

You will not move from a late finish to a 06:00 start on the next day; your weekend pattern (early or late) will be fixed.

Training

Full availability needed for three full weeks of paid training, Monday–Friday, 09:30–16:30.

Pay and benefits

Starting at £12.71 per hour, with pay reviews after full training ( not onboarding training).
Weekly pay every Friday.
Monthly bonus scheme based on performance.
