Part of the Graduate Admissions and Recruitment office, the Operations team plays a key role in supporting applicants through the entire application process, processing applications, documents and enquiries, as well as supporting 70+ academic departments and 45 colleges or private halls through all stages of the graduate admissions process, ensuring the successful enrolment of outstanding graduate students for the following academic year. Graduate admissions is a high-volume operation with over 40,000 applications and 25,000 enquiries received each year.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Graduate Admissions Operations team, which handles the 50,000 applications and 25,000 enquiries received by the University each year for postgraduate courses. This post is central to the provision of an outstanding experience to applicants and colleagues in admissions roles across the University. Working closely with the Head of Graduate Admissions Operations, you will lead a team of operations administrators to ensure that the end-to-end admissions process is delivered to a high quality and within deadlines.

You will plan and monitor the progress of the admissions cycle, using detailed data to allocate resources and identify issues requiring intervention. You will adopt a continuous improvement approach to operational activities, ensuring that admissions processes are efficient, accurately documented and regularly reviewed. You will engage with colleagues across the University to identify, scope and prioritise improvements to policies, systems and processes, and will be responsible for the management of the senior Graduate Admissions Committee, producing agendas, minutes and papers.

You will configure and interrogate complex IT systems to ensure that our courses are correctly set up and that issues are rapidly identified and resolved, as well as working closely with student systems colleagues to devise improvements.

About You

Experience of working in a customer-focused environment, developing and leading outstanding customer service.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including writing papers and reports, and the ability to build relationships with and influence a broad range of stakeholders.
Excellent IT skills, including configuration and investigation of issues in complex systems; and the ability to acquire the skills to use new software packages.
Ability to formulate policies and work with complex business processes, including capturing user feedback, proposing and delivering improvements and documenting changes.
Experience of detailed planning and monitoring, and flexibility in adapting to changing circumstances.

This role does not meet the criteria for sponsorship under the Skilled Worker visa under the UK Visa & Immigration points-based system. We are therefore unable to offer sponsorship for this role.
