Full job description

DES Build Ltd is a growing construction and maintenance contractor, and we are looking for a skilled Multi-Trade Operative to join our expanding Small Works Division. This role will involve reactive maintenance and the delivery of small projects across a variety of occupied and unoccupied properties.

The Role

You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of maintenance and repair works, ensuring jobs are completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Typical duties will include:

Reactive maintenance works across commercial properties
Small project works from start to completion
Multi-trade tasks including (but not limited to): carpentry, brickwork, basic plumbing, patch plastering, tiling, decorating, and minor electrical works (where qualified)
Diagnosing faults and proposing effective solutions
Liaising professionally with clients, tenants, and colleagues
Always ensuring compliance with health & safety standards
Completing job records and reports accurately

About You

The successful candidate will:

Have proven experience as a Multi-Trade Operative or similar role
Be competent in several core trades
Hold a full clean UK driving licence
Be reliable, organised, and able to work independently
Take pride in producing high-quality workmanship
Have good communication and customer-facing skills
Relevant trade qualifications are desirable but not essential
