About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an administrator to join our dedicated and ambitious Adoption Service within our Voluntary Adoption Agency (VAA)

You will join a skilled, motivated and reflective team that works tirelessly to place children at the centre of everything we do. The service is proud to be building on the progress that achieved an Ofsted judgement of GOOD with outstanding features in February 2025, and you will play an important role in sustaining and strengthening this standard.

You will be working as part of a team of 2 administrators supporting the Post Adoption and Special Guardianship team based in Northampton. This is a hybrid role with 3 days in the office

What will you be doing?

You will support the service with its management and payment processes in relation to Adoption Support Fund payments and liaison with external therapy providers. You will need to process invoices and complete a monthly balance of all claims so a good knowledge of excel and an affinity with numbers is needed.

You will provide general administrational support to the team of social workers, helping to update records, sending out contacts and newsletters

You will manage general queries into a shared inbox and organise rooms for team meetings

Your ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and communicate effectively with colleagues, social workers, and external agencies will be key to your success.

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore subject to an enhanced DBS certificate. It is also a regulated activity and will be subject to a Barred List check

About you

Enjoying the coordination of information, you support colleagues effectively and help ensure processes run smoothly.

With strong literacy and numeracy skills, you also bring experience working with databases and the confidence to create queries or use formulas to extract and analyse information.

Proficiency across Microsoft applications—including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams allows you to work efficiently and professionally.

Demonstrating strong organisational skills, you’re able to prioritise tasks, meet deadlines and manage a high-volume workload.

Clear and effective communication comes naturally to you, enabling you to build positive relationships with colleagues and partners.

Taking a proactive, task focused approach, you consistently apply excellent attention to detail.

Whether working independently or as part of a team, you produce accurate progress reports and provide excellent customer service.
