Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Health Care Assistant/Support Worker to join our compassionate team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality care and support to residents in a care home setting, ensuring their well-being, dignity, and independence are maintained at all times. Your leadership skills will be essential in supervising junior staff, developing care plans, and fostering a positive environment that promotes health and happiness. Duties

Deliver personalized care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility, always respecting individual preferences and needs
Supervise and mentor junior support workers, providing guidance and ensuring adherence to care standards and protocols
Develop, review, and implement tailored care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team to meet each resident’s unique requirements
Promote effective communication with residents, families, and team members to ensure everyone is informed and involved in care decisions
Support residents with medication management under supervision, ensuring safety and compliance with regulations
Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and progress notes using IT systems for seamless record-keeping
Assist with the safe transportation of residents using company vehicles when required, demonstrating strong driving skills

Skills

Proven experience working in a care home or senior care environment with supervisory responsibilities
Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate and guide support staff effectively
Excellent communication skills to interact empathetically with residents, families, and team members
Ability to develop and follow detailed care plans tailored to individual needs
Competence in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
Valid driving license with experience in safe vehicle operation for resident transportation
Knowledge of safeguarding procedures, health & safety standards, and regulatory compliance
