The Role
This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same.
You will be responsible for delivering and collecting mobility equipment, carrying out basic servicing and repairs, preparing equipment in our workshop and supporting our retail stores whenever required.
You'll spend much of your time visiting customers in their homes, so excellent customer service and a friendly, professional manner are essential.
Full product training will be provided, although previous mechanical or engineering experience is highly desirable.
A company van will be provided for business use.
Key Responsibilities
Deliveries & Collections
- Deliver mobility equipment safely to customers' homes.
- Collect equipment for servicing, repair or hire returns.
- Transport equipment between our Beaconsfield and Hemel Hempstead stores.
- Demonstrate products to customers during delivery where appropriate.
- Ensure all deliveries are completed professionally and on time.
- Load and unload equipment safely.
Servicing & Repairs
- Carry out minor repairs and servicing at customers' homes.
- Diagnose simple faults and complete basic repairs.
- Replace components where required.
- Complete workshop servicing and equipment preparation.
- Report any major faults requiring further investigation.
- Maintain accurate service records.
Workshop Duties
- Prepare equipment for sale or hire.
- Assemble new products.
- Clean and inspect returned equipment.
- Assist with stock movements.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop.
Retail Support
When required, you will also support our retail teams by:
- Greeting customers.
- Assisting with product demonstrations.
- Helping customers load purchases.
- Answering basic customer enquiries.
- Maintaining showroom displays.
- Assisting with general day-to-day running of the stores.
About You
We're looking for someone who enjoys practical work, solving problems and helping people.
You should be reliable, organised and able to work independently while also supporting the wider team.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Friendly and professional manner.
- Good practical skills.
- Confident working independently.
- Physically fit, as regular lifting and moving of mobility equipment is required.
- Flexible approach to working hours and locations.
- Good communication skills.
- Positive, can-do attitude.
Desirable
- Mechanical or engineering experience.
- Experience repairing mechanical or electrical equipment.
- Experience working in a customer-facing role.
- Experience driving vans.
- Previous experience within the mobility industry (not essential).
