Salary Range: £27,780 - £30,564 pro-rata, per annum, (actual salary £20,835 - £22,923 per annum).
Work Location: Elizabeth II Court, Winchester (Hybrid Working)
Hours per week: 37
Contract Type: Temporary until 31st July 2027 (term time only – 39 weeks per annum)
Closing Date: 14 July 2026

The Role:

Joining Hampshire Outdoors’ Bikeability Cycle Training Team as an Instructor, you’ll use your passion for cycling to help inspire and equip children with the skills and confidence to cycle safely on the road. You’ll play a vital role in promoting active travel, independence, and wellbeing for young people across Hampshire. If you don’t yet hold the required Bikeability award, we’ll provide fully accredited training before you start delivering courses.

Our team operates countywide across Hampshire, however this role will primarily focus on the Central and North regions, including Winchester, Basingstoke, Andover, Farnborough, and surrounding areas. Winchester will be your main office base. We may however, be able to offer some flexibility on location for the right candidate.

What you’ll do:

Deliver high-quality Bikeability cycle training to primary school pupils, groups, and individuals.
Work as part of a team to plan, risk assess and deliver safe and engaging sessions.
Maintain accurate records, monitor outcomes, and support quality improvement.
Drive the Bikeability van if qualified to do so (training provided) and manage equipment for sessions.
Promote cycling as a healthy, sustainable mode of transport and remove barriers to participation.

What we’re looking for:

An experienced, confident, and enthusiastic cyclist with your own bike and helmet.
A passion for outdoor activities, comfortable working outdoors in all weather and physically active environments.
Strong knowledge of safety and risk management, and an understanding of what makes experiences truly valuable and high quality.
Ability to travel across Hampshire and transport equipment to schools.
Excellent communication skills and basic IT literacy.
Level 2 Award in Instructing Cycle Training (or willingness to train).
