Kitchen Porter to Commis Chef – Development Opportunity

Location: The Elm Tree
Salary: Competitive, based on experience
Hours: Full-time

Are you passionate about food and looking to build a career in the kitchen?

The Elm Tree is looking for a hardworking and enthusiastic individual to join our team in a unique Kitchen Porter to Commis Chef development role. This position is perfect for someone who wants to learn, grow, and progress within a professional kitchen environment.

No formal chef experience is required – just a strong work ethic, a positive attitude, and a genuine passion for hospitality and cooking.

What You'll Be Doing

Supporting the kitchen team with cleaning and organisation
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene
Assisting chefs with basic food preparation
Learning key kitchen skills and cooking techniques
Helping with deliveries, stock rotation, and kitchen organisation
Progressively taking on more responsibility as your skills develop
