The Family Ministry Pastor will provide spiritual leadership, pastoral care, biblical teaching, and discipleship to families across the church. The successful candidate will develop and lead programmes that encourage Christian family life while supporting parents, children, young adults, and married couples in their spiritual growth.
The role requires regular preaching, teaching, pastoral counselling, family visitation, prayer ministry, evangelism, and leadership of family-focused church activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Preach and teach the Word of God during church services and family ministry programmes.
- Lead regular worship, prayer meetings, Bible studies, and discipleship sessions focused on families.
- Provide pastoral care, counselling, mentoring, and spiritual guidance to couples, parents, children, and young adults.
- Conduct home and hospital visits where pastoral support is required.
- Prepare families for Christian marriage through biblical counselling and marriage preparation classes.
- Support married couples by providing ongoing pastoral care and relationship enrichment programmes.
- Lead parenting seminars and family discipleship initiatives.
- Oversee children's, youth, and family ministry activities in collaboration with ministry leaders.
- Assist in administering Christian ordinances, including Baptism and Holy Communion, where authorised by the church.
- Organise evangelism and community outreach programmes aimed at strengthening family life within the wider community.
- Train, mentor, and supervise volunteer leaders serving within family ministries.
- Promote safeguarding practices and ensure the wellbeing of children and vulnerable adults in accordance with church policies.
- Support the Senior Pastor in delivering the church's vision and strategic objectives.
- Participate in church conferences, leadership meetings, prayer retreats, and special religious events.
- Maintain accurate ministry records and prepare reports on family ministry activities.
Essential Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A recognised Degree in Theology, Biblical Studies, Ministry, or a related field (or equivalent recognised ministerial qualification).
- Formal ordination or recognised appointment as a Christian Minister of Religion.
- At least 2 years' experience in pastoral ministry, family ministry, or church leadership.
- Demonstrable experience in preaching, teaching, discipleship, and pastoral care.
- Experience supporting marriages, parenting, youth, and children's ministry.
- Strong knowledge of Christian doctrine and biblical family principles.
- Excellent communication, leadership, counselling, and interpersonal skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding children and vulnerable adults.
- The legal right to work in the UK or eligibility for sponsorship where applicable.

Pay: £21,000.00-£25,000.00 per year
