We have a vacancy within our Engineering department and are currently recruiting for a Engineering Team Leader. We are looking for candidates who have relevant and proven experience seeking an opportunity to develop their skills and join a growing organisation.
Shift Pattern: 39 hours each week, 07:30 - 16:30 Monday to Friday, and 07:30 - 12:30 on a Friday, with designated breaks
Location: Accrofab Alcester, B49 6EH
Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support the “internal customer” (Manufacturing Manager) by sharing agreed objectives on EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery and participating in the Operational Control model.
- Participate in the Manufacturing Manager and/or Team Leader walk the floor routine and develop a stand-alone walk the floor routine specific to the Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering role.
- Participate in the Daily Operations meeting and relevant Standard Diary meetings, taking ownership of problems assigned to the Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering function for resolution.
- Contribute to the delivery of the EHS Model, by participating in Job Safety Observations and providing technical/process solutions to EHS problems where appropriate. Demonstrating clear ownership JSOs, Risk Assessments, and any further EHS requirements for Engineering specific equipment and processes.
- Understand the process constraints and operating rules of the value stream covered in the Engineering/Manufacturing Engineering role and participate in problem-solving exercises to improve flow where relevant.
Support Engineering and Product Quality Manager through day-to-day supervision of the Manufacturing Engineers and Subject Matter Experts.

Compliance and Manufacturing Continuous Improvement

Lead the EEP (Engineering Enhancement Plan) for the site and the department. Coordinating the tracker, and leading all initiatives to delivery strategic growth and improvements for the site.

Take accountability for the relevant milestones in the sites CAPEX plans, owning project scope, research and development, into project conception, financial supporting documentation, and delivery.

Ensure delivery of the productivity targets under the scope of the role are delivered on time, within budget, and comply to customer specification.

Ensure that all necessary tooling which is required to support a safe, robust and efficient manufacturing process is designed, manufactured and available to support relevant milestones.

Create and control (to the correct version) manufacturing documentation such as set-up packs, stage drawings, work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOPs), etc

Develop a continuous improvement “pipeline” of activities by supporting LEAN Events and generating individual ideas to improve EHS, Quality, Cost and Delivery performance. For example, by developing tooling strategies to reduce tooling usage and cost, developing actions to reduce process cycle times and improve productivity/throughput, developing actions to eliminate quality defects, and working to create a safe and environmentally compliant workplace.

Apply problem-solving methodologies to define and solve problems at root cause as a method of improving operational performance, in particular on process capability and quality problems.

Participate in problem-solving peer reviews, training and awareness activities to help the organisation develop a strong problem-solving culture.

Implement and/or project manage problem solutions through (but not limited to) working with external suppliers, working with customers, proving out improved technologies and programmes, completing Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities, etc.

Participate in internal and external audits, taking account of outcomes from audit processes and working to implement solutions where gaps are identified.
