Full job description

About the Role

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Gas Engineer / Gas Fitter to join our growing team, working across a portfolio of residential developments, refurbishment projects, and managed rental properties throughout Sunderland and the North East.

This is a varied role that combines installation work on development and renovation projects with servicing, maintenance, repairs, and safety compliance across our letting agency portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality workmanship while ensuring all gas-related work is carried out safely and in accordance with current regulations.

Key Responsibilities

Installation of gas boilers, heating systems, and associated pipework on development and refurbishment projects
Boiler replacements and central heating upgrades
Servicing and maintenance of gas appliances and heating systems
Diagnosing and repairing faults on domestic gas systems
Carrying out annual Landlord Gas Safety Inspections (CP12 certificates)
Responding to maintenance and emergency call-outs within managed properties
Working closely with project managers, landlords, tenants, and contractors
Ensuring all work complies with Gas Safe regulations and industry standards
Maintaining accurate records and certification for completed works
Supporting property development and renovation projects from first fix through to completion

RequirementsEssential

Current Gas Safe Registration
ACS Qualifications (CCN1, CENWAT, CKR1, HTR1 or equivalent)
Proven experience in domestic gas installation, servicing, and repairs
Full UK Driving Licence
Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Desirable

Experience working within residential property maintenance or letting agencies
Experience with property refurbishments and development projects
Plumbing experience
Unvented Hot Water Qualification
Experience with renewable heating technologies
