Full job description

Ramside Hall Hotel are recruiting for a skilled and experienced Senior Pastry Chef to come and join our team.

Just a 5-minute drive from the historic city of Durham, Ramside Hall Hotel offers 127 luxurious bedrooms and suites, as well as our exclusive Treehouses. With stunning views across 350 acres of beautiful private grounds, two 18 hole Championship golf courses, a luxury on site spa complex, four bars and award winning restaurants, Ramside Hall Hotel is one of the best hotels in the North East of England.

Ramside is home to some of the very best restaurants in County Durham, including the our award winning restaurants the Rib Room Steakhouse, Pan-Asian restaurant Fusion and new concept restaurant Charcoa.

Events are also a big item on the social calendar, be it a wedding, conference, christening, school prom, Christmas party, charity event or any other special occasion, Ramside Hall Hotel is one of the most versatile multi-purpose venues in the North East.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced pastry chef to work within a busy four-star hotel, producing high-quality desserts, afternoon teas, pastries and celebration items across our restaurants, weddings, banqueting and events.

The role will include:

Creating consistently high-quality desserts, pastries and afternoon tea products
Supporting the development of seasonal menus and new ideas
Helping to lead, train and inspire junior members of the pastry team
Managing preparation, presentation, stock control and food costs
Maintaining excellent standards of food safety, cleanliness and organisation
Working closely with the senior kitchen team across the hotel

Has excellent attention to detail and presentation
Can manage a busy workload while maintaining consistency
Enjoys developing people and contributing fresh ideas
Takes genuine pride in their craft
