Overview
We are seeking a motivated and reliable Kitchen Hand/Cook to join our team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals passionate about food and cooking, whether you have previous kitchen experience or are eager to develop your skills in a professional environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with food preparation, supporting kitchen operations, and ensuring high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained. This paid position is ideal for those looking to gain practical experience in a dynamic hospitality setting.

Duties

Assist with food preparation, including chopping, peeling, and assembling ingredients
Support the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from senior kitchen staff
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes and utensils
Ensure all food safety standards and hygiene regulations are adhered to at all times
Help with meal assembly and presentation to ensure quality standards are met
Restock supplies and ingredients as needed to ensure smooth kitchen operations
Support serving staff during busy periods by delivering prepared dishes promptly
Assist in cleaning kitchen equipment and work surfaces regularly to uphold health standards

Skills

Previous experience in a kitchen or restaurant environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
Strong understanding of food safety practices and hygiene standards
Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Good organisational skills with attention to detail during meal preparation and cleaning tasks
Basic cooking skills with a passion for culinary arts
Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues
Willingness to learn new techniques and adapt to different roles within the kitchen setting
