Job overview

A permanent band 6 Senior Staff Nurse vacancy, “off unit” endoscopy focused, has arisen to join the dynamic Endoscopy Team at Kingston Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

The role requires the individual to lead the day-to-day management of the “off unit” endoscopy service and deputise in managing the operations of the endoscopy unit in the absence of the Team Leader or Unit Nurse Manager. It requires the individual to lead the clinical nursing team, ensuring by example, a high standard of patient care at all times. It also emphasises that the individual contributes towards writing policies, procedures, and protocols against national and local guidelines. Previous 2 years’ experience working in the endoscopy department is essential.

Main duties of the job

Leads the day-to-day management of the “off unit” endoscopy service.

Deputises managing the operations of the endoscopy unit in the absence of the Team Leader or Unit Nurse Manager.

Leads the clinical nursing team, ensuring by example, a high standard of patient care and troubleshooting of technical issues daily, together with the Team Leader.

Contributes towards writing policies, procedures, and protocols in line with the BSG and national guidelines.

Contributes towards monitoring utilisation of the “off unit” endoscopy service.

Leads on delegated responsibilities by the Unit Nurse Manager or Lead Nurse.
