We are seeking a passionate and experienced Landscaping Gardener to join our unique private estate on the Windsor/Buckinghamshire border — a place where landscapes are not simply maintained, but carefully shaped, nurtured, and brought to life.
This is a rare opportunity for someone who takes genuine pride in outdoor spaces and understands the balance between horticultural excellence and practical estate upkeep. From sculpted formal gardens and tranquil water features to productive planting areas and seasonal maintenance, no two days — or spaces — are the same.
The ideal candidate will be equally comfortable refining the finer details of a garden as they are rolling up their sleeves to support the wider upkeep of the estate.
The Role
You will play a key role in maintaining and developing a diverse range of outdoor environments to an exceptional standard. Combining horticultural knowledge with a proactive, hands-on approach, you will help ensure the estate remains immaculate, functional, and visually inspiring year-round.
You will:
- Maintain gardens, flowerbeds, shrubs, and landscaped areas through pruning, trimming, watering, planting, and seasonal care
- Carry out routine grounds maintenance including leaf blowing, pathway clearance, litter picking, and debris removal
- Support the upkeep of lakes and surrounding outdoor spaces
- Operate and maintain garden machinery and tools including mowers, strimmers, hedge cutters, and other handheld equipment
- Take ownership of specialist garden areas and contribute ideas for ongoing improvement and presentation
- Work closely with the wider team to ensure all outdoor spaces are maintained safely and efficiently
- Assist with general estate maintenance tasks including painting fences and outdoor structures, basic repairs, and manual labouring duties
- Report hazards, damages, or maintenance concerns promptly
- Occasionally support team leadership and help uphold high working standards across the estate
About You
You are practical, reliable, and take pride in creating and maintaining exceptional outdoor spaces. You understand that great gardens are built through consistency, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for the work.
You will bring:
- Previous experience in gardening, horticulture, landscaping, grounds maintenance, or estate work
- A strong work ethic and willingness to undertake hands-on physical tasks in all weather conditions
- Good working knowledge of horticultural maintenance techniques
- Confidence using hand tools, power tools, and garden machinery
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- The ability to work independently and as part of a wider team
- A proactive and flexible approach to daily tasks
Desirable
- Formal horticultural training or qualifications
- Experience working on private estates or high-end landscapes
- Full UK driving licence (essential)
- Telehandler licence (desirable but not essential)
Working Hours
- 10-hour shifts (including 1-hour paid lunch break)
- 5 days per week
- 1 weekend off in 4
