Spa Fit-Out Project / Construction / Specialist Trade Preferred

Location: Sutton, with possible support at East Dulwich
Hours: Full time or project-based
Tools: Tools provided where required
Reports to: Project Lead / Site Manager / Operations Team

About the Role

Oru is looking for a skilled Multi-Trade / General Builder to support the fit-out of an exciting new spa and wellness project at our Sutton site.

This role is more construction and project-focused than general maintenance. It would suit someone with strong practical building skills who can work across a range of trades, ideally with a specialism in one core trade such as carpentry, joinery, tiling, plumbing, decorating, plastering, drylining, flooring or general building works.

The project will include high-quality wellness spaces, spa facilities, treatment rooms, changing areas, showers, toilets, external areas and carefully designed customer-facing finishes. We need someone who can work neatly, safely and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Support the fit-out of spa, wellness and hospitality spaces.
Carry out general building works as part of the project.
Work across multiple trades depending on experience and competence.
Complete carpentry, framing, boxing-in, joinery, shelving or furniture-related works.
Support drylining, plasterboard, making good and finishing works.
Assist with tiling, flooring, decorating or second-fix work where experienced.
Support basic plumbing-related works where competent.
Help prepare spaces for specialist contractors.
Work with external contractors including MEP, sauna, steam, plumbing, electrical and roofing teams.
Read and follow basic drawings, layouts, specifications or site instructions.
Keep work areas clean, safe and organised.
Help solve practical site issues during the build.
Maintain high standards of finish in customer-facing areas.
Support snagging, final fixes and finishing works.
Follow health and safety procedures on site.
Communicate clearly with the project lead and wider team.

Ideal Trade Specialisms

We are especially interested in people with a strong background in one or more of the following:

Carpentry / joinery
General building
Drylining / plasterboarding
Tiling
Plumbing
Flooring
Decorating / finishing
Fit-out works
Bathrooms, wet rooms or spa-style spaces
Commercial refurbishment

Skills and Experience

We are looking for someone who has:

Good hands-on construction or fit-out experience.
A strong specialism in at least one trade.
Ability to turn their hand to other general building tasks.
Good understanding of sequencing works on a live project.
High standards of finish.
Ability to work from instructions, drawings or site markups.
Good problem-solving skills.
A tidy and safe working style.
Good communication with other trades and the project team.
Reliability, flexibility and pride in their work.
Experience working in live commercial environments.

Desirable

Experience on spa, wellness, leisure, hospitality, hotel, restaurant or high-end residential fit-outs.
Experience with wet rooms, showers, changing rooms or tiled areas.
CSCS card.
Own specialist tools, although general tools can be provided.
Driving licence.
Ability to support both construction work and ongoing maintenance after the project.
