About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our growing technology team in London. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled networking professional who thrives in complex enterprise environments and enjoys designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, high-performing network infrastructure.

You'll play a key role in supporting business-critical systems, driving infrastructure improvements, and ensuring the reliability, security, and scalability of our network operations while collaborating with cross-functional technical teams.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure across LAN, WAN, WLAN, and cloud-connected environments.
Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancers.
Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement proactive improvements.
Troubleshoot complex network incidents and provide timely root cause analysis.
Manage network security, access controls, and compliance with organisational security standards.
Support high availability, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and network optimisation projects.
Create and maintain accurate technical documentation, network diagrams, and operating procedures.
Collaborate with cybersecurity, cloud, infrastructure, and service desk teams to deliver reliable IT services.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute technical expertise across the wider IT function.

Required Skills & Experience

Proven experience as a Senior Network Engineer, Network Infrastructure Engineer, or similar role.
Strong knowledge of enterprise networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, VPN, BGP, OSPF, and STP.
Experience configuring and supporting Cisco, Juniper, Aruba, Fortinet, Palo Alto, or equivalent enterprise networking platforms.
Hands-on experience with firewalls, network monitoring, and performance optimisation tools.
Familiarity with cloud networking within Microsoft Azure or AWS environments.
Experience with network security best practices and infrastructure resilience.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related discipline.
Professional certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, JNCIP, Fortinet NSE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Experience working within ITIL-based environments is advantageous.
