Summary

Metro Rod has been providing professional drainage services for over 40 years and is one of the UK's leading drainage specialists, with a network of over 40 franchise businesses covering England, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Metro Rod Cambridge is looking for a Drainage Engineer to join our growing team. This is a full-time, permanent position carrying out a variety of reactive and planned drainage works for commercial and domestic customers. No two days are the same, so we're looking for someone who enjoys problem-solving, takes pride in their work and wants to be part of a supportive team.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,500–£33,800, depending on experience, with the opportunity to increase your earnings through paid overtime, on-call rota and incentive scheme.

The successful candidate will be provided with a company van, fuel card, uniform and all equipment required for the role.

Responsibilities

Carry out drain clearance, cleaning, maintenance and repair works.
Operate high-pressure water jetting equipment safely and in accordance with company procedures.
Carry out CCTV drainage surveys where required.
Provide a high standard of customer service and technical expertise.
Accurately record work completed using company and client systems.
Communicate professionally with commercial and domestic customers, colleagues and the Metro Rod Support Centre.
Participate in the on-call rota to provide a 24-hour emergency service. The rota is currently one week in four, although this may vary depending on business requirements.
Represent Metro Rod Cambridge professionally at all times.

Experience and Skills

Good problem-solving skills with sound technical ability.
Positive, reliable and flexible approach to work.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Willingness to participate in the on-call rota and work overtime when required.
Good communication and customer service skills.
Full UK driving licence.
Previous drainage experience is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate.
