Full job description

The Campaigns and Communications Lead will play a key role in the Hope and Healing project, leading the Campaign for Hope strand of activity and contributing to other areas of the project. You’ll bring knowledge and experience of a range of campaigning and approaches that can create change at different levels of the system, from communities to policy levels, and support the Hope and Healing partnership to use learning and relationships from the project to campaign for and create change. You’ll be committed to the values of Hope and Healing, including sharing power and listening to different voices, and you’ll be as comfortable sitting in community spaces, working alongside local people, as you are talking to system influencers. You’ll ensure we have effective and impactful communication across the project, working closely with our expert Communications Marketing team, and our Communications and Engagement Partner.

You’ll have an understanding of how to make change in complex systems, and of the challenges this can bring. You’ll be able to identify the relationships that we need to make change and be skilful at building networks and relationships, including with decision makers. You’ll work closely with the Head of Hope and Healing to identify how we can mobilise learning from the project to generate wider change, and with Platfform’s Head of Policy and Influencing to identify how Hope and Healing can align with and support Platfform’s wider vision for change.

We work with people experiencing challenges with their mental health, and with communities who want to create a greater sense of wellbeing in the places that they live. Through our projects, we work with thousands of people each year.

We believe that long-lasting wellbeing comes about by understanding how lives can be shaped by traumatic experiences, identifying people’s strengths and focussing on healing. We know we can’t ‘fix’ people, but we can walk alongside people and help where we can on their journey.
