Internal Sales Manager
Full Time | Based near Cirencester

Role & Location
As our business has grown and evolved, our internal sales team has become an increasingly key factor in our success. This new role is an opportunity to take that team’s contribution to a higher level, supporting team members, developing systems and processes, and enhancing our customer relations. The internal sales team is responsible for quote issuing, order loading, liaising with suppliers and updating clients. The role will report to the company directors but will also involve daily coordination with our external sales people, engineers and operations people. The Internal Sales Manager plays an important role in our organisation, making sure our internal sales team is empowered to provide strong communications to customers, colleagues and suppliers. As well as working with the operations team and other colleagues to drive continuous improvement in how we deliver as a sales focused organisation. This is a key function for our sales goals and the successful candidate will attend our head office near Cirencester, Gloucestershire but with potential for working from home on Fridays.
The role will include:
· Dynamically managing the workload and priorities of the internal sales team
· Running weekly meetings with the internal team
· Conducting annual appraisals with the internal team and managing holiday requests to ensure continuous cover
· While the role is focused on supporting and coordinating the internal sales team, the successful candidate will be required to become familiar with how we issue quotes, load orders, assess order queues, create picking notes, issue dispatch notes and other team functions.
· The Internal Sales Manager will be required to perform the above functions when team members are on leave or otherwise unavailable.
· Managing and working closely with the internal sales team members. The successful candidate will support those team members in:
o Interaction with clients and suppliers, with enhanced phone communications
o Resolving client problems
o Making risk based judgements
o Seeking efficiencies
o Enhancing our reputation as an organisation that strives for high customer services standards.
· Work closely with operations team, management and other colleagues to support the ongoing development and improvement of our sales processes and business systems, helping to drive efficiency and growth.
· Work with colleagues to support enhanced data about the key aspects of our businesses performance.
· Potential attendance of 2 or 3 trade exhibitions annually
The successful candidate will enjoy support from experienced and motivated colleagues, with the opportunity to develop the role and grow with the business over time. There may also be opportunities to work in other group companies.
This is a hands-on role within a growing SME, where flexibility and a willingness to get involved are key. There may be opportunity for this role to be part time for the right candidate.
Experience & Skills
This role would suit someone looking to take the next step in their career, moving into a more senior position or working in a more diverse and challenging environment.
Key requirements include:
· Proven experience in an internal sales, sales support, or operations role, ideally within a technical, engineering, or distribution environment.
· Some experience of leading, supervising or mentoring team members ideally in a sales environment
· Strong understanding of sales processes, including quoting, order processing, and customer communication
· Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads and manage competing demands
· The ability to solve problems and make sound, day to day decisions
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
· Experience working with business systems (ERP) and MS Excel
· A proactive mindset with an interest in improving processes and ways of working
· High attention to detail and a commitment to excellent customer service
Reward
Salary depends on experience in the range of £40,000 to £42,000.
In addition, we offer 30 days holiday allowance, flexible working, company benefits including pension scheme and health care cover. We also have team activities twice per year which may include travelling abroad.
Pay: £40,000.00-£42,000.00 per year
