Do you love creating great food and take pride in working in an organised, efficient, clean kitchen? We’re The Rose & Crown – a cosy, welcoming village pub with a busy kitchen – and we’re looking for a reliable Cook with some kitchen experience who can confidently work on service in a busy pub kitchen.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who enjoys responsibility, thrives in a supportive kitchen, and is ready to apply their skills in a fast-paced environment. You will play an important role in helping us deliver delicious, well-presented dishes every day.

Responsibilities

As our Cook, you will play a key supporting role during service. Your day-to-day will include:

Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to a high standard under the direction of the senior chefs.
You will be expected to actively cook during service, not just assist with prep.
Assisting with running specific cooking stations efficiently during busy periods.
Supporting the team with daily tasks and menu preparation.
Maintaining excellent food hygiene and safety standards.
Ensuring your work station is clean, stocked, and well-organised.
Assisting with stock control, ordering, and reducing waste as directed.
Working collaboratively with the rest of the team to deliver great food consistently.
This is a part-time role averaging around 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

Previous experience in a commercial kitchen (Cook, Commis Chef, or strong Kitchen Assistant) with hands-on cooking during service.
Solid understanding of kitchen operations and food safety standards.
Ability to stay calm and productive under pressure.
A passion for cooking and presenting great food.
Strong team ethic and good communication skills.
Reliability, punctuality, and a proactive attitude.
Flexibility to work a range of shifts, including evenings and weekends.
Food hygiene certification is a bonus but not essential.
This is a hands-on, fast-paced kitchen role during busy service periods.
