Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Music Therapist to join our dedicated healthcare team. The successful candidate will utilise music-based interventions to support individuals with diverse needs, fostering emotional, cognitive, and physical well-being. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in clients' lives through personalised therapy programmes tailored to individual goals and requirements.

Responsibilities

Develop and implement customised music therapy programmes aligned with clients’ care plans and therapeutic objectives
Conduct individual and group sessions, adapting techniques to suit varying age groups and abilities
Assess clients’ progress regularly and adjust therapy approaches accordingly
Collaborate closely with multidisciplinary teams, including healthcare professionals, carers, and families, to optimise therapeutic outcomes
Maintain detailed documentation of sessions, progress notes, and care plans in compliance with organisational standards
Educate clients and their support networks on the benefits of music therapy and encourage active participation
Stay informed about current research and best practices within the field of music therapy to enhance service quality

Skills

Excellent communication skills, with the ability to connect effectively with clients of all ages and backgrounds
Proficiency in IT systems for documentation, scheduling, and reporting purposes
Strong organisational skills to manage multiple caseloads and maintain accurate records
Ability to create personalised care plans that reflect individual needs and therapeutic goals
Empathy, patience, and a genuine passion for supporting individuals through creative therapeutic methods
Knowledge of current music therapy techniques and evidence-based practices is desirable
