Do you believe childhood should be muddy, adventurous, creative and full of wonder?

At Growing Wild, children spend their days building dens, climbing trees, lighting campfires, exploring woodland trails, caring for nature and following their own curiosity. We are looking for passionate practitioners who want to step away from four walls and become part of something truly different.

This is not a traditional nursery role.

Our practitioners are co-explorers, storytellers, risk-benefit thinkers and champions of child-led learning. Every day is different, and every season brings new opportunities for discovery.

About Growing Wild

Growing Wild is a unique outdoor nursery with settings at:

Hesley Wood, Sheffield
Wigfield Farm, Barnsley

We believe children thrive when they have time, space and freedom to play, explore and connect with the natural world.

The Role

You will work as part of our experienced and supportive team to:

Create rich outdoor learning experiences
Support children's play, exploration and wellbeing
Build strong relationships with children and families
Observe, assess and plan for children's learning
Help maintain safe, inspiring outdoor environments
Promote inclusion and support children with a range of needs
Contribute to our warm, nurturing and child-centred culture

We Are Looking For Someone Who:

Essential

Holds a relevant Early Years Level 3 qualification (or above)
Has a genuine passion for outdoor learning
Can build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
Is enthusiastic, adaptable and resilient
Understands the EYFS and child development
Is willing to work outdoors in all seasons

Desirable

Forest School experience or training
Experience supporting children with SEND
Paediatric First Aid
Knowledge of child-led and play-based approaches

Hours Available

Option 1 – Full Time

4 days per week

Option 2 – Part Time
