Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Machine Operator (Trainee) to join our woodworking factory. This entry-level position offers the opportunity to develop essential skills in manufacturing and fabrication processes within a dynamic environment. The successful candidate will undergo comprehensive training to operate machinery safely and efficiently, contributing to the production of high-quality wooden products. This paid role is ideal for individuals eager to start a career in manufacturing, with potential for future progression.

Duties

Assist in setting up and operating woodworking machinery
Learn to programme and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) used in manufacturing processes
Use hand tools and tooling to perform basic assembly, material handling, and finishing tasks
Handle materials safely within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage and movement of stock
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the work area to adhere to health and safety standards
Perform basic mathematical calculations for measurements and quality checks

Requirements

Basic mechanical knowledge with an interest in fabrication and manufacturing processes
Experience or knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and milling is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
Proficiency with hand tools, materials handling, tooling, and assembly techniques preferred
Good understanding of basic maths for measurements and calculations
Previous experience in warehouse or manufacturing environments is a plus but not mandatory
Ability to learn quickly, follow instructions accurately, and work safely in a team setting
