The Role – What You’ll Be Doing

As a Support Worker / Carer, you will:

Provide personalised daily living support (washing, dressing, mobility, nutrition)
Deliver trauma-informed care, recognising triggers and supporting emotional regulation
Support individuals with complex emotional and behavioural needs
Promote independence, choice, and dignity at all times
Administer medication in line with care plans and training
Encourage engagement in meaningful activities and community access
Maintain accurate documentation and contribute to care reviews
Work collaboratively with professionals and families
Create a safe, calm, and structured environment

This is not just task-based care — it is relational support that can genuinely change someone’s life trajectory.

Who We’re Looking For

You may already work in:

Residential care
Mental health support
Supported living
Complex needs services
Dementia or behavioural support settings

Or you may be new to care but naturally possess the empathy, patience, and emotional resilience this role requires.

Essential Qualities:

✔ Compassionate and emotionally intelligent
✔ Calm under pressure
✔ Strong professional boundaries
✔ Excellent communication skills
✔ Committed to safeguarding and best practice
✔ Full UK driving licence

Desirable:

Experience supporting individuals with trauma histories
Knowledge of positive behaviour support (PBS)
Medication training
NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work towards)
