Support Workers – Residential Care or Semi-Independent Services

Are you passionate about supporting young people in achieving their potential? We are hiring Support Workers for two different opportunities:

Residential Care: Working in a children’s home, providing support for looked-after children.
Semi-Independent Services: Supporting young people in developing life skills and transitioning to adulthood.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide tailored, person-centered support, whether within a residential home or a semi-independent setting.
In residential care: contribute to daily routines, safeguarding, education, and emotional support for children.
In semi-independent services: support young people (16+) in building life skills such as budgeting, cooking, job readiness, and managing their independence.
Safeguard the well-being of all young people, ensuring a safe and nurturing environment.
Help manage behavior positively, maintaining professional boundaries.
In both roles: maintain accurate records, contribute to care plans, and collaborate with social workers and other professionals.

What We’re Looking For:

Prior experience supporting children or young people in care, or supporting young people toward independence.
Qualifications: A Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or willingness to work toward one) is desirable.
Strong communication, empathy, and resilience.
Understanding of safeguarding and child protection (Children’s Act 1989 knowledge is a plus for residential roles).
Flexibility: Ability to work shifts, including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins, depending on the setting.
