1-1 Teaching Assistant

We have an urgent position to start ASAP to work in a school just outside of Kirkby Stephen - This role will be to support a pupil on a 1:1 basis with Special Educational Needs

Responsibilities:

Provide one-on-one or small group support to students who require additional help with learning.
Offer emotional and pastoral support to students to improve their confidence and self-esteem.
Help students with organisational skills, study techniques, and goal setting.
Support students with specific learning needs, including those with SEN (Special Educational Needs).
Foster a positive and inclusive school culture.
Work closely with teachers and parents to track and review student progress.
Contribute to the development of strategies to enhance student learning and well-being.

What we require:

Previous experience working with children or young people with Special Educational Needs
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with students
A compassionate and proactive approach to supporting student development.
A good understanding of the challenges some students face in learning and the strategies that can support them.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the varied needs of students.
A commitment to promoting equal opportunities and safeguarding.
Enhanced DBS check on the online update service or willing to get one

Qualifications & Requirements

A recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or a background in education or care (NVQ, CACHE, Degree, or equivalent)
Experience supporting children with SEND
Passionate working with young children or adults with disabilities

Pay Rate: £14.60 - £16.90 per hour

Safeguarding children is an integral part of what we do and we have a stringent safer recruitment process. We undertake checks on all the candidates we work with. As such we require a current Enhanced DBS Disclosure for everyone working in Schools. If you do not have a subscription to the DBS Update Service, you may be required to complete a new DBS application as part of the registration process. If you take a temporary role with Sense Education you will be paid on a weekly basis. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position but long term. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

Pay: £14.60-£16.90 per hour
